Snug Harbor Pottery

About Snug Harbor Pottery...

Years ago on a family vacation in Tennessee, we happened upon a pottery studio in the "artsy" area of a tourist's trail.  Having dabbled all my life in one medium or another, I was struck by how something like a bowl or mug could be both functional and beautiful.  This medium just made sense to me -- something inside me clicked!  I thought I would really like to take up pottery one day.  With that idea tucked into the back of my mind...life went on.

Then one day at the veterinary hospital where I work (my day job), a client came in and during our idle chit-chat she mentioned having clay on her shoes.  She told me about a local pottery studio -- and they gave lessons!

Halfway through my second lesson, I was hooked.  My name is Cindy Seymore...and I am a pottery addict!  As with any addiction, it started off small.  First I bought a wheel.  Then I found a kiln on Craig's List.  Now, I salivate over the possibilities in a new glaze and how any utensil in my kitchen has the potential for becoming a new pottery tool!

Snug Harbor Pottery is located in Clay Hill, Florida, a rural area just south of Jacksonville. We are situated on a parcel of the 50 acres that my father-in-law bought as his little slice of heaven after retiring from the US Navy.  He called this land his "Snug Harbor."  My studio is named in memory of him.

Enjoy your look around.  If you have questions regarding anything, please contact me. Should you wish to purchase any item, please note that shipping is included in the purchase price but is limited to the contiguous United States.
